Correct once I propped the motor up fully and drained it of hyd oil I pushed the ram all the way back down into the cylinder to allow for more room to squeeze past my engine. Also, once the motor is trimmed up/out to the point where the trailering motion takes over and the tilt moves faster, the noise goes away completely. This is all done under power of the trim switch. If your engine trims down fine but stops partway when trimming up, and the motor's good, suspect this switch. This screaming noise is usually caused by low oil in the trim motor which causes air to get into the oil. You most appreciate the importance of your outboard or sterndrive tilt and trim feature when it fails. The noise can only be heard when going up, down is normal.
